We would like to thank you and your team for the professional and exceptional service you have given us over the last 2 years. When we purchased our laundromats (back in March 2006) they were run down, dirty, and the machinery was not suitable for its purpose. The machinery was too old and, in the first 6 months of us taking over, cost us many hundreds of dollars just repairing it to keep it operational.

During this time we decided to investigate the costs and benefits of purchasing some new dryers for the Coomera shop, as we only had one 30 lb ADC dryer and four small Maytag dryers (microwave dryers we called them). We used the internet to do our initial research, comparing machines and trying to get some idea of relative pricing and quality. This research brought us to organise a meeting with you, as we found your office was only two minutes from our home.

At this meeting we discussed the full range of Dexter equipment, not just the dryers. You also discussed the financing plans that Dexter offered. This was certainly a sweetener, because the laundromats were only just keeping themselves afloat at the time and we did not have much money for the necessary renovations and new equipment. We found that the cost/benefit was far superior to any other manufacturer we had investigated. We are a lawyer/accountant team so we understood the concept of paying a little extra for quality workmanship that lasts three times longer than the competitors’ products, resulting in a lower real cost in the long term.

So we ordered the first Dexter 30 lb dual-stack dryer and shortly after a T-300 and a T-400 front loading washing machine. You also helped out with the new design layout for the shop incorporating additional Dexter machinery that were to be phased in over the next twelve months. However, this new equipment created such a positive response from our customers and was so commercially successful that we brought forward this planned phase-in with another T400 and two more 30 lb dual-stack dryers.

At the time we kept five competitor top-loading washing machines, to cater for some of our older clientele (most of whom were on a strict budget and usually had only a handful of items to wash) who had only ever used top-loading washing machines and were set in their ways. With a little education and encouragement, this prejudice soon reversed so we upgraded three of these top-loading washers to two more T-300’s and a whopping T-600. The T600 has been surprisingly popular, particularly with our New Zealand migrant clientele.

We have achieved a threefold increase in our takings, and our costs have decreased accordingly, resulting in a fivefold increase of our net profit. Much of the credit for this business improvement relates directly to the quality of service and
customer appeal provided by the Dexter equipment.

Installing the Dexter equipment has also enabled us to effectively take a coin-operated laundry and use it alternatively (as required) for commercial washing using a palm-pilot to easily and quickly change the wash cycle.

We are now progressing the renovation and machinery upgrade of our other laundromat. Two T-400’s have already been installed and the clientele is slowly becoming familiar with their benefits. We will keep you posted on this one.
